How to use scenepacks

A scenepack is every scene of one character from a movie, show, anime, or game, in one video. You download it, drop it in your editor, and cut out the parts you want.

Picking a pack

Packs come in 4K or 1080p. Don't worry if the one you want is 1080p. TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts compress your upload anyway and don't show it in 4K, so 1080p looks just as good once it's posted, and it runs smoother in your editor.

Most packs are H.265 (HEVC). Some apps and older phones can't open that. If yours can't, see when a clip won't import.

Downloading

Open a title, pick a pack, and hit Download. Free accounts sometimes get a short sponsor video first. Packs can be a few GB, so use Wi-Fi.

On iPhone, it saves to the Files app. Open it there, tap Share, then Save Video, and it'll show up in your camera roll for CapCut. On Android, it goes to Downloads and CapCut can open it from there.

Editing in CapCut

Make a new project, pick the pack from your videos, and tap Add. Find the moment you want and use Split to cut around it.

When you export, use the same resolution as the pack. If your phone struggles, export at 1080p. On CapCut for desktop, just drag the file onto the timeline.

Editing in After Effects

Import with Ctrl+I (Cmd+I on Mac). Drag the clip onto the New Composition button and the comp will match its size and frame rate. Trim with Alt+[ and Alt+], or split with Ctrl+Shift+D.

4K H.265 is heavy in After Effects. If playback stutters, right-click the clip in the Project panel and go to Create Proxy > Movie, or set the preview to Half.

When a clip won't import or lags

If your app won't open the file, it probably can't read H.265. Convert it to H.264 with HandBrake or Shutter Encoder (both free). On Windows, installing Microsoft's HEVC Video Extensions often fixes it.

If it opens but lags, make a proxy, convert it down to 1080p with the same apps, or lower the preview quality. If your upload looks worse than your edit, export at a higher bitrate. For TikTok, try TikTok Optimizer.
